Dangers of a faulty boiler

A faulty boiler can be dangerous to anyone who does not have any experience of qualifications in the heating field.

It is a known fact that any system which heats up using gas or oil is high at risk giving off carbon monoxide if it is not serviced by a professional.

This silent killer has an estimated death ratio of 1 person per week in the United Kingdom. This is caused through lack of care and maintenance.

If you don’t already know gas can be extremely difficult to detect as it doesn't have a smell or taste. If you find yourself short of breath this could be a main indication of carbon monoxide poisoning. Some other symptoms include drowsiness, fatigue, nausea and headaches. The symptoms can be over a period of time or sudden depending on the leakage. It doesn’t take long for the carbon monoxide to enter the bloodstream once inhaled; this usually causes the person to go into a coma or even death.

If you are worried that your boiler may be faulty please check for these vital signs:

Flame is no longer blue (Burning yellow or orange)

Smoke/ soot stains appear above the boiler

Please make sure the room with holds your boiler is well ventilated and the boiler is kept under maintenance.

The green deal works by saving every day home owners money with the governments energy saving home improvements.

There will be no cost at all for the change you will just carry on paying your monthly bills at a discounted rate.

The green deal consists of 5 different sectors, these include:

• Double Glazing
• Renewable Energy Technologies
• Insulation

To become a part of this scheme you will firstly need to contact Scarbrook for your hassle home assessment. We will then come over to your property and find out what improvements we can make to save you money.

As Scarbrook is a Heating and Plumbing company we will not be able to off you the other Green Deal Services, just Heating only.

once you assessment is complete we will inform you on the day whether you qualify for a free boiler. If you qualify for the cash back scheme we will inform you of all the details.  After which if you decide to take up the offer we will book you in and go ahead with the home improvements by fitting you a new economical boiler. You will need to fill out our Green deal plan before hand and there you have it. No upfront costs and you will pay the money back through your electricity bill which will be cheaper than the original monthly costs.
