Save the easy way
So the winter freeze has finally hit with our first
sightings of snow recently across Yorkshire. With this sudden chill in the air
after a so far mild winter, it is extremely tempting to ramp the thermostat up
to the high twenties in an attempt to stay warm. However this naturally come at
a high price at the end of the month.
However, there are ways you can turn the heating up and
still keep your bills at a reasonable level. Heating controls are a great way to
have control over where your heat goes in the home. Here are a few tips to help
you keep your home warm and efficient.
Radiator
Thermostat Valves
These allow you to control the temperature of each room in
the house individually therefore, only heating the rooms you need. No point in
heating that spare room no one sleeps in!
Individual
Room Thermostats
This tells your boiler the temperature you want in your
rooms. Your boiler will turn on to heat the rooms to your required temperature,
then cut out once this has been reached.
The ideal temperature you your rooms should be around 19C to
ensure you are warm but remain energy efficient. As Richard said in our Tips & Tricks Video – View Here!
Remember to keep the thermostat away from your radiators as
this can affect its reading of the room.
Set the Time!
Time controls can be a great way to save energy. Set your
heating to come on just before you get up in a morning, and go off just before
you leave. Then at night set it to come on around 10 minutes before you get
home and go off around the time you go to bed! Therefore, you only heat your
home while you are in it!
Boiler
Service
In order to keep your heating at top efficiency have your
boiler regularly serviced. We recommend once per year. This will ensure your
boiler performs at the top of its game to save your money.
